The philosophy of "less is more" is evident in Quinn's art. He has "always admired the magic of negative space, what is left unsaid."

One finds in his elegance and simplicity intriguing parallels with the Chinese masters of the Sung dynasty and 18th century Japanes landscape painters - a tendency to suggest with calligraphic brevity, allowing much revelation to be completed in the viewer's mind. " I try to turn the viewer of my paintings loose by giving his imagination plenty of room to expand. Then he is traveling on his own."

Quinn graduated with distinction from the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. He has had exhibits at galleries and museums around the country, including a one-man show at the Frederic Remington Art Museum.

Quinn is a regular exhibitor at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum's "Birds in Art" show; his work is also among the museum's permanent collection.

He is the author of the The Working Retrievers, a large handsome volume, written in an exceptional narrative style, now considered a classic on the subject of field retrievers.

Spanish painter, sculptor, graphic artist, and designer. After passing through phases of Cubism, Futurism and Metaphysical painting, he joined the Surrealists in 1929 and his talent for self-publicity rapidly made him the most famous representative of the movement. Throughout his life he cultivated eccentricity and exhibitionism (one of his most famous acts was appearing in a diving suit at the opening of the London Surrealist exhibition in 1936), claiming that this was the source of his creative energy. He took over the Surrealist theory of automatism but transformed it into a more positive method which he named `critical paranoia'. According to this theory one should cultivate genuine delusion as in clinical paranoia while remaining residually aware at the back of one's mind that the control of the reason and will has been deliberately suspended. He claimed that this method should be used not only in artistic and poetical creation but also in the affairs of daily life. His paintings employed a meticulous academic technique that was contradicted by the unreal `dream' space he depicted and by the strangely hallucinatory characters of his imagery.
His subjects were many and varied, but they had one thing in common - they captured vivid and beautiful images of life Jamaican life - from landscape to people to greenery and sunlight. Michael Lester found his inspiration in Jamaica and spent many years painting.

In recognition of his fine work, the National Gallery of Jamaica had an exhibition, aptly entitled Picturing Paradise. The exhibition was curated by Dr. David Boxer.

He was born Michael Leszczynski in Poland in 1906. Though he was born far from the sea, he spent most of his working life in the British and Polish navies. In 1953, he settled in the hills overlooking Montego Bay. During his time at sea he had been able to indulge his extraordinary talent for painting and watercolour and already had an international artistic reputation when he arrived in Jamaica.

During his lifetime his books sold over 100 million copies and have been translated into 20 different languages and that number continues to rise at an accelerated rate. His book, Green Eggs and Ham, is the third largest selling book in the English language, EVER.In 1997,

The Chase Group acquired exclusive worldwide rights to publish the work of Dr. Seuss as limited edition prints.

JEFF ROLAND
$1000
Born in France in 1969, Roland has sold works to collectors in France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the UK, the USA, Norway, Canada , & Italy.  His work is part of the London Museum of Everything Collection and the Barcelona  Davis Museum collection .

His paintings have recently been exhibited at the Brick Lane Gallery (London,2010), the Cannes Palm Beach Art Festival (Cannes , 2010) and at the Tate Modern ( London 2010)as part of the Museum of Everything exhibition 2, ,at the Museum de la Halle St Pierre (Paris, 2010), Galeri Vox (Halden , Norway 2010) and the University of Nancy (Nancy, FR,2011) .

Roland believes that his art, which emerges from the subconscious, should not be defined according to the expectations of the modern art world. Instead, it is a personal interaction between artist, canvas and viewer. A self-taught painter, Roland's work is characterised by his use of distinctive,tribal-like figures, a juxtaposition of opposing symbols and flattened backgrounds. His paintings fuse aspects of the raw style with contemporary literary and visual references.   A number of key themes can be identified in Roland's paintings. These include belonging (as an artist and individual), interconnectedness and conformity. He is also fascinated by the creation of history. The consumption of one society by another appears repeatedly in his body of works.

Roland's paintings stress that "civilization" is built on the fragments of older, arguably moreprimitive societies. This is used as a psychological metaphor where civilization acts as the rational conscious usurping the place of the more primitive subconscious thought.
